Editorial Policy
How Riding Nexus researches, writes, fact-checks, rates and updates content, and how we keep commercial interests out of editorial decisions.

Our editorial mission
We publish accurate, practical and independent information that helps people choose, maintain and safely ride e-bikes, e-scooters, bicycles, dirt bikes and electric motorcycles.
Independence
- Editorial decisions are made by our editors alone. Advertisers, affiliate partners and brands cannot review, edit or approve content before publication.
- Product ratings use the published Nexus Score methodology. Commercial relationships are not an input.
- We do not accept payment for reviews, rankings or positive coverage. If a manufacturer lends us a product for testing, we say so in the article and return it or disclose that we kept it.
- Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will always be clearly labeled "Sponsored" and kept separate from our ratings.
Research and sourcing
- We prioritize primary sources: safety standards (UL, EN, ISO), regulators (CPSC, GOV.UK, EUR-Lex, national road authorities), manufacturer documentation and peer-reviewed research.
- Every factual claim that isn't common knowledge is cited. Sources are listed at the end of each article.
- Where laws or prices differ between the US, UK, EU and Switzerland, we explain the differences rather than assuming one market.
Fact-checking and review
Every article is checked before publication for accuracy, safety and clarity. Safety-critical topics (batteries, brakes, electrical repairs, legal requirements) receive an additional review. Articles show who wrote them, who reviewed them where applicable, and when they were last updated.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlining, translation of units and proofreading. AI never replaces human judgement: a human editor checks every fact, every source and every recommendation before publication, and we never publish AI-generated product "tests" or fabricated experiences.
Safety standards
We never recommend uncertified batteries, removing speed limiters on public roads, or repairs beyond a reasonable home mechanic's skill without clear warnings. Where a job is safer done by a professional, we say so.
Updates
Guides are reviewed regularly, and immediately when a standard, law or product recall changes the facts. Product scores are reviewed at least quarterly. Significant updates are reflected in the "Updated" date.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and transparently. Minor errors (typos, broken links) are corrected silently. Factual errors are corrected, and where the error was significant, we add a note at the end of the article explaining what changed. Report an error to hello@ridingnexus.com or via our contact page.
Reader feedback
We welcome feedback, topic suggestions and constructive criticism, including suggestions to make the Nexus Score fairer. We read every message.
