Privacy Policy
How Riding Nexus collects, uses and protects personal data, and your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, the Swiss FADP and US state privacy laws.
Last updated
This policy explains what personal data Riding Nexus ("we", "us") collects when you use ridingnexus.com, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. We collect as little as we can.
Who is responsible
Riding Nexus is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@ridingnexus.com.
What we collect and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Technical data (IP address, browser, device, pages requested) in server logs | Delivering the site securely, preventing abuse | Legitimate interests |
| Advertising identifiers and cookies (Google AdSense) | Showing ads, measuring ad performance, frequency capping, fraud prevention; personalized ads only with consent | Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland); legitimate interests for non-personalized ads where permitted |
| Usage data via Google Analytics 4 (pages viewed, clicks, approximate location, device type) | Understanding which content and tools are useful so we can improve them | Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland); legitimate interests elsewhere |
| Email address (newsletter) | Sending the newsletter you asked for | Consent. Unsubscribe at any time. |
| Messages you send us | Answering enquiries and corrections | Legitimate interests |
| Preferences stored in your browser (theme, units, currency) | Remembering your settings. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. | Strictly necessary / your request |
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and we do not sell personal data for money.
Advertising and consent
We use Google AdSense to show advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we use Google Consent Mode with a consent banner (our own, and Google's certified consent management platform under the IAB TCF once ads are served), so advertising and analytics storage stays off until you choose. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices link in our footer.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
Service providers
We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and delivery), Cloudflare (DNS and security), Google (Google Analytics 4 and, once enabled, AdSense advertising) and, once connected, our newsletter provider. Each is bound by data-processing terms.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside the EEA, UK or Switzerland, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by adequacy decisions (including the EU-US, UK-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified) or by Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- Server logs: up to 30 days, unless needed to investigate abuse.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Emails: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Advertising and analytics cookies: see our cookie policy.
Your rights
EEA, UK and Switzerland: you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the ICO in the UK, your national authority in the EU, or the FDPIC in Switzerland.
US residents (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of "selling" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising and of targeted advertising. Use the Privacy choices link, or email us. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported by our consent tools. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, email hello@ridingnexus.com. We will respond within the time required by law (usually one month, or 45 days in the US).
Children
Riding Nexus is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with modern security headers. We keep data collection to a minimum and limit access to the people who need it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date at the top. For significant changes, we will make it prominent on the site.
