Charger output rating

What does Charger output rating mean?

The voltage and current a charger is designed to deliver to a device, shown on the charger's label as output values.

The charger output rating is printed on the adapter label, usually as a voltage in volts (V) and a current in amperes (A). It describes the power the charger is designed to supply to the bike. The wall-side input rating is a separate label entry.

Can matching output numbers prove compatibility?

No. A matching pair of numbers is only one part of identifying a charger. Jetson says chargers that look alike or fit the same port can still differ inside. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that so-called universal chargers can fit but remain incompatible with a micromobility battery.

Record the output rating when you contact the maker, but use its approved charger list to select the part. Our Jetson replacement charger guide shows how to match a bike SKU to a charger SKU without guessing from the adapter label.
