Wheelbase
What does Wheelbase mean?
The distance between the centers of a bicycle's front and rear wheel axles. It helps you judge overall length and turning space.
Wheelbase is the distance from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle. It is one number in a bicycle’s geometry chart, not the bike’s full length. A longer wheelbase can matter when you turn in a small space or store a bike in a lift or hallway.
Why ask for wheelbase on a chopper e-bike?
The motorcycle-inspired frame can be longer than its product photo suggests. For example, BIGNIU’s BG-X Mini listing gives a 44.5 in (113 cm) wheelbase and a 65 in (165 cm) overall length. Those are maker claims for that model, checked November 2, 2026. Measure your storage space and ask the seller for both dimensions on the exact bike you want.
Our chopper style electric bike buying guide shows the axle-to-axle measurement in a diagram and explains the other fit checks. Use that diagram before asking a dealer for the missing measurements.
